This float is styled after a famous Vimana flying chariot that is mentioned in the Vedic records. Vimana is the Hindi word for aircraft and the Vedic records are filled with stories about these flying machines. Sanskrit scholars have translated these portions of texts in an attempt to discover if ancient flying machines were in fact used by the ancient kings of India.
The average Hindu citizen in India takes it for granted that their ancient ancestors had airplanes thousands of years ago and modern (western) man is only now re-discovering them.
